Macro attempt.

I got a new lens from the hubby for my birthday yesterday (he sure knows the way to my heart)!! Needless to say – STOKED!! 😀

The lens is Nikkor 85mm f/3.5; great for macro shots! As you can see in my shots below, I think the clarity is great for not having used a tripod for such up-close shots. The only slight short coming I really notice is the f/3.5…I wish the lens would go to f/1.8 to let in more light! Otherwise, I have to lower the shutter speed and we all know that leads to the unwelcome blur without a tripod…I also wish this was both FX and DX compatible so that I can use it on FX as well when I get one…Other than that, no complaints so far. I had fun playing with it (I’m overdosing you on flowers here) so far, this is my first time shooting macro, and here are a few of my favorite shots!

What do you recommend as the best macro lens out there?

These are so lovely! But they were in a dark shady area...

Not great composition, messy feel to it, but somehow, it works for me. Must be the soft light peaking.
